Sometimes fonts are installed as font families, sometimes they used to be installed individually. If you also can't display them on your Libre-Office documents, the bold and italic forms of the font may not have been installed.

Liberation Serif seems to be a good workaround, almost identical in appearance, and exactly the same in size/spacing so that it maintains the length of the document to the line. Andrew
