Dustin Trampe

Post by Dustin Trampe » December 14th, 2017, 2:38 pm

My name is Dustin Trampe, and I've been studying Greek for about 7 years now. I'm from Waukesha, Wisconsin (go Packers!). My initial motivation for learning Greek was to read the New Testament, but I always loved the access the language gave to some of the world's greatest philosophical thinkers. I used both Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek and a little of the JACT Reading Greek course to get myself started. It was a challenge to learn on my own, but at the same time I developed certain skills that have helped me keep learning past an introductory level. (Plus, I have had the courage to begin learning Latin as well.) I have had the privilege of digging into Epictetus, Origen, Plato, Life of Adam and Eve, and Philo's Commentary on Genesis to name a few, besides the NT and LXX. Now, I'm scanning through Patrologia Graeca for things of interest.

I found this site and am thrilled to see others excited about learning Greek. It is so much better to know others who can work with me on a text or problem, and it's been hard to find elsewhere!

Apparently I now need to come up with a cool Greek signature to end posts ;)
