Is the word Ἱεροσόλυμα half Greek half Hebrew?
ἱερός means sacred, a sacred thing, a temple
σόλυμα = Salem = שָׁלֵם may be old name of Jerusalem?
Ἱεροσόλυμα and ἱερός

Re: Ἱεροσόλυμα and ἱερός
No, Ἱεροσόλυμα is just the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew ירושלים. The beginning of the transliteration, Ἱερο-, has no correlation with any Greek word - it's just transliterated Hebrew in Greek characters.
