I have been trying to extract the meaning of Galatians 5:5 and the kappa in ἀπεκδέχομαι puzzles me, especially since there is a verb ἀποδέχομαι with much the same lexical range. Most of the "ἀπεκ-" verbs take the kappa, or even the epsilon-kappa, from the following root verb.
I'd be happy of any help with understanding this. In the NT, only Paul uses it, except for one occurrence in Hebrews. (New evidence that Paul actually did write Hebrews? - only 99% kidding!)
Is this simply a crasis of άπο- and έκ-? Or is there a more arcane morphology involved here, if anybody knows?
