It's a straightforward rendering of הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹול. Is there a point to the original post?

Since you deleted all your own comments on the TextKit thread, it's difficult to tell what you're trying to accomplish with this inquiry.

This topic started from here:

Matthew 26. 3
Τότε συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τοῦ λεγομένου Καϊάφα

οί ἀρχιερεῖς (plural) = the chief priests

ό ἀρχιερεύς (singular) = the high priest

The Greek - Chinese parallel says that ἀρχιερεύς = high priest and chief priest: https://bible.fhl.net/new/fhlwhparsing. ... F%E7%A4%BA

Since there was only one high priest, ἀρχιερεῖς can only mean chief priests.

Luke 22. 52 is another example:
εἶπεν δὲ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς τοὺς παραγενομένους ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ πρεσβυτέρους, Ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων;

Here is the other expression for high priest in LXX:

Maybe there are some other expressions for high priest?

Thanks!
