Translation of Matthew 28:1

How do I work out the meaning of a Greek text? How can I best understand the forms and vocabulary in this particular text?

George Somsel sent me this privately. I am posting it here, while keeping the thread locked. Abbott-Smith was good on εἰς μίαν σαββάτων, but not as good on Ὀψὲ δὲ σαββάτων. BDAG is better:
