Uncial New Testament

Post by tdbenedict »

Does anyone have an idea of where to purchase a New Testament in Uncial script? Not necessarily a facsimile of a codex (which are too much $$). Just a GNT in Uncial script. My reason for wanting one is sort of silly, but I would like to use it devotionally -- getting "close" to the text, etc.

Thanks, Tim

You could download and print out my King James Textus Receptus text at http://cntr.t15.org/downloads/KJTR.pdf which is in an uncial font with no diacritical marks. It would also not be difficult to make one yourself with your own preferred text using my uncial font at http://cntr.t15.org/downloads/KoineGreek.ttf.

Thanks, Alan! I also enjoyed looking at the rest of your website. Your intro to the King James Greek Text is interesting and persuasive.
Question: My favorite gnt is the sblgnt. Is there an easy way to use your font with that? I ask because it seems līke with msword the accents get in the way and need to be removed before applying your font.

Yes, my uncial font does not work with diacriticals because there were no diacriticals. From the main page (http://cntr.t15.org), if you click on the Manuscript tab, you can select individual manuscript transcriptions from the dropdown box. Or alternatively, you can get the SBL text with the uncial font by clicking on this link (http://cntr.t15.org/transcripts/R-SBL.htm). Then just cut and paste it into Word.
