Proverbs as an introduction to LXX

Hi Everyone,

I am beginning to work through Proverbs in the LXX. I am working through NT books for research purposes, but I want a greek project that I can do for fun/enjoyment/devotional purposes outside of my regular study.

As I am not very familiar with the greek of the LXX myself, I wanted to quickly check, with those who are more experienced than me in LXX studies, if such a choice is not overly crazy. If it is not particularly crazy, my second question is, is there a particularly good book or other resource that you would recommend that would go along with this? (Aside from a dictionary of course)

Thanks!

I found Ruth and Jonah to be nice intros. I'm sure Proverbs works fine, too.

Being narratives I am sure they would be a nice introduction. As would be expected, I already finding Proverbs has a higher density of more technical terms that are not normally found in narrative. It might be a little too much for me at this point but I will stick with it for a bit.

Genesis also makes a good intro. A good online resource is https://www.motorera.com/greek/ - with the GNT, LXX, and other literature, hyperlinked for parsing.
And for a bit of lively stuff you could try Judith, Bel and the Dragon, or Susanna :-)

Another resource that does this is here:
