Yes! Mea culpa! 3 Kgdms 2:28.

There we go! Thanks!

3 Kingdoms (1 Kings) 2:28 -

NASB:
Now the news came to Joab, for Joab had followed Adonijah, although he had not followed Absalom.
And Joab fled to the tent of the LORD and took hold of the horns of the altar.
LXX:
NETS:
And the news came to Ioab the son of Sarouia - for Ioab had inclined after Adonias and did not incline after Salomon -
and Ioab fled to the covert of the Lord and grasped the horns of the altar.

So I'm thinking we should consider visual and phonetic mistakes on the part of the translator (or copyist).
Would you draw that conclusion for 4 Kingdoms 12:8-15, where the translator has "κραταιόω - ἐνισχύω - κατέχω"?

Why do you suppose he only used κατέχω in verse 13a?

Yes, I would draw the conclusion that "we should consider visual and phonetic mistakes". ;)
But I'm puzzled about the inconsistency. FWIW, I could find nothing in the secondary literature or the Septuaginta Deutsch commentary.

FWIW, here is Hatch & Redpath's entry on κατέχειν, which shows which Hebrew words it translates for various meanings. Because of the way attachments work here, I will do this in two messages.
