This translation is provided by Perseus but I can't match it up:

I'm researching extant uses of the word πολυτροπίας in particular:
1. Hippocrates. Regimen in Acute Diseases [ Hipp. Acut. section 1 ]
Can some translate this passage from Hippocrates ?

The link for the translation goes to Homer, not Hippocrates, and that might explain why you couldn't "match it up."Bill Ross wrote: ↑May 6th, 2020, 8:54 am http://artflsrv02.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/ ... ippocrates

Try this from the older Perseus:

Montanari, F. (2015). M. Goh & C. Schroeder (Eds.), The Brill Dictionary of Ancient Greek. Leiden; Boston: Brill.πολυτροπία -ας, ἡ [πολύτροπος] versatility HDT. 2.121. ε3 (Ion. -ίη) ‖ variety, multiplicity, of formulations HP. Acut. 3 DION. Amm. 2. 3.2 MAUR. 12.24 etc.
"Some, indeed, were not unaware of the varieties of diseases in each and their mulitiplicities."
Notice the dialect is Ionic. I'm sure a better translation would result from consideration of context, but that should communicate the structure of the Greek at least.

Thank you, Barry, for rescuing me from the weeds there.
