Introduction

Post by Jean Putmans »

Dear all,

I am a retired translator German/Dutch vv., living in The Netherlands, born 1956.

I studied German Language and Literature in the 70ies. One of the Curriculum-Parts was Gothic Language, which I liked very much.

Now, being retired, I picked op studying the Gothic Language again, that is in fact studying the Gothic Bible, for that's the biggest part of the extant written Evidence of Gothic Language.
As the Gothic Bible is almost not-understandable without looking at the Greek Text it was translated from, that demands studying Greek again. I can say: after almost 45 years of non-occupation with Greek that's the very hard part of my "hobby", but on the other hand: I don't have to pass exams anymore, so I can relax in that respect.

Regards
