the formative element -IK- used with OS/H/ON endings forms an adjective
having the sense, "pertaining to." There is no formative element -MIK-, as
such, but when -IK- is added to the stem of nouns in -MOS/-MA such as NOMOS
or the many nouns formed from -IZW stems (e.g., LOGISMOS from LOGIZW,
hELLHNISMOS from hELLHNIZW, NOMISMA from NOMIZW, KTL.), we get a lot of
Greek-derived adjectives in English -mic.
