As far a pronouncing the GNT, I think what you will actually find
is that there are *three* pronunciation schemes abroad: (1) modern
(ala Zodhiates), (2) strict Erasmian, and (3) classical/Erasmian.

If you listen to Gleason Archer read the Gospel of Matthew (which
is the one book in Heavenword that he actually reads through),
you'll hear the classical/Erasmian pronunciation. This pronunciation
is sort of half way between modern and Erasmian, the best I can
tell. I *think* that folks that learned classical first, learned
this pronunciation scheme (everyone I know who pronounces like this
learned classical first or learned Koine from someone who learned
classical first). It would be interesting to hear Carl, Edgar, and
Edward read a bit of text... (-;

Nevertheless, being a strict Erasmian myself, I find that listening
to the word by word, verse by verse of Archer in Heavenword to be
quite acceptable.

XAIREIN...
