B-Greekers:

I am curious to know what distinction should be drawn between KOINWNEW
and METECHW in Hebrews 2:14, and my limited resources are not of much
help. A friend of mine claims that he read somewhere that, among other
things, KOINWNEW implies full participation (in flesh and blood), while
METECHW implies only partial participation. However, I have yet to
examine a resource that so much as implies this. May I call upon you for
some help? Why are two terms which, as far as I can see, mean pretty
much the same thing, used in the same verse? Many thanks.
