doesn't seem that many have engaged your metre question--

see commentaries on hebrews for discusssions of pleasing cadences in NT. i
remember moffat ICC making a point of it. 

for poetry in the gospels, greek metre is least relevant. 
comparisons with hebrew, psalms, DSS, and all three in greek dress would be
the place to begin. i have a footnote on lack of greek metre in the
magnificat, in JSNT 1984 21:67-83 "Hebrew Poetic Tenses and the
Magnificat", reprinted in NT text and Language, Evans and Porter, ed.,
Sheffield.
