It's got nothing to do with your processor, and everything to do with your
CD-ROM drive, and in particular the speed of transferring date from drive
to HD.
Same speed CD-ROM drives can have significant differences in transfer rates
-- it's well worth checking out the spec.
Otherwise, I agree with your views on this Parsons' program --
it is clunky and has the general look/feel of an earlier generation of
programming.
