Generally, this verse is understood to suggest that a millstone is "tied" or
"hung' around the hapless soul's neck. is it possible that perikeitai means
"harnessed" around the neck of the offender- painting the picture that the
offensive person is like the ass tied to the grindstone?
In other words- does the verse mean that the offender is like an ass tied to
the stone? This seems to provide a very interesting image- much more
interesting than a chap with a stone tied around his neck.
