This thread began originally with a request for an evaluation of Souter. I
responded that it was the best pocket sized lexicon.
I agree that Abbott-Smith is the best intermediate sized dictionary of the
Greek NT. When I bought my copy back in the 50s it was about $4.50! I began
to use it as a reqired text for rapid reading. One of its advantages is
that it often gives you the Hebrew which the term translates in the LXX.
The person who is at the T&T Clark desk at SBL (or at SNTS) is the chief
honcho there. Maybe we should try to persuade him en masse in Boston!
And I'm looking forward to that winecellar tour, Edward!
