My general linguistics MA thesis 'Towards a Theory of Aspectual Nesting
for New Testament Greek' has been published on the Internet.

The URL is http://ethesis.helsinki.fi/julkaisut/hum/yleis/pg/huovila

Unfortunately, as for now, the page numbering on the net differs from
the original work and the table of contents.

The work views grammatical categories as prototype categories. This, I
think, is the most fruitful approach to grammar, and helps us avoid
writing a grammar that would not reflect any natural language. It also
helps us to be more detailed in our analysis.

Aspect is seen as a nested phenomenon with an indefinite number of
layers, both semantically and structurally. Lexical aspect is the
innermost layer, but the sentence may build several layers of aspect
around it.

I examine the aspectual view of Porter, Fanning and McKay, and present a
view of my own. The work also includes a chapter on tense.

Any comments and feedback concerning my study is welcome, especially
from those who read it :-)

Kimmo
