In Acts 17:23 the word ANAQEWRWN is replaced in the first hand of D with
a word which is difficult to pin down due to lack of data: DIISTORWN.

BAGD (p.195) gives for DIISTOREW the gloss "examine carefully" which is
identical to the sense of ANAQEWRWN in this context. They only citation
that is given is: Philod. Rhet. II 150 fgm. 6. s..

LSJ (p. 428) gives the same reference and gives the gloss "relate."

Is it possible that BAGD's gloss for this word is perhaps a bit dubious?
With little to go on in the way of data it has been assigned the meaning
of ANAQEWRWN in this context.

I hate to suggest etymology (an occult practice) but what else can we do
to shed some light on this word?

Any suggestions?
