Brenton's LXX

Jay,

There was short thread on Rahlf's and Brenton about a week ago; you might want
to check the archives.

RE: Tenney's reliability. It depends on what you mean by "reliable."

His NT Survey is useful, a little dated, certainly reliable on background
matters. He takes conservative positions on matters of introduction (such as
traditional authorship of books, Pauline chronology, etc.) and generally
represents the positions well. He has been somewhat supplanted by Robert
Gundry, A Survey of the NT. The classic defense of conservative conclusions
on introduction is Donald Guthrie's NT Introduction. Kuemmel's Introduction
to the NT fairly represents the majority position, and you may try Helmut
Koester's Introduction to the NT, vol. 2, as well.

Can anyone give me some insight as to Brenton's LXX as opposed to
Rahlf's? It has become evident that I shall need a copy, but I would
like to make an informed decision.
Also, (and I know this is somewhat off topic) how reliable is Merrill
Tenney's 'New Testament Survey' ? What about Wigram's 'Englishman's
Greek Concordance'?
Your comments and insight are welcome.
                        In Christ,
                                         J.
