"brothers and sisters" with the NRSV? This is one of my pet peeves

Sure, there is a big difference. We are absolutely certain based on NT
texts, as well as, non-biblical texts, that the term ADELFOI was used to
refer to "brothers and sisters." No doubt, not every time ADELFOI was used
it refers to such, but the fact that it did at times mean such is without
any serious doubt. The issue of translating KURIOS or even QEOS as
"Yahweh'" is more complex. First of all, "Yahweh" is a proper name. There
are many "lords" and many "gods," but only one "Yahweh." Translating KURIOS
or QEOS as "Yahweh" seems to me to be just as capricious as translating
them as "Zeus."
