a strange nominative

Some verbs carry the concept of intransitiveness even though they are
not state of being verbs such as eimi or ginomai. Verbs of growing and
remaining often have both a transitive an intransitive function. It is
possible, even likely, that kaloi is a predicate nominative describing
the understood subject of the verb menoin.
