Dear Member List:
I compart idea about the name James is a anglicized pronunciation. The name James is knowing in Hebrew, this and other names pass to a Greek, this to Latin, (latinized) and finally Anglosajon languages. Remember Eusebius called this (Ecclesiatical History) The First of The Catholic Epistles. The first mention of James' Epistle by name occurs in the third century, in Origen. Also Clemes Romanus quotes it. Shepherd of Hermas quotes it, also Ireneus. Clemens Alexandrinus commented it. None of the Latin father before the fourth century quote it. Paul (Gal. 2:9) arranges the names James, Peter (Cephas), John in the order in which Epistles stand.
