Greetings from Central America. I also agree that the present active
particples in 21.2,10 & 3.12 as well as for angels in 10.1, 18.1 and 20.1 is
best understood as an action in process so that Juan saw the object as it
descended, not only after its descent. However, this in itself says nothing
about whether the vision is to be seen as still future. It is significant
that when John of Patmos saw the mighty angel of 10.1 descend toward land
and see, and them offer him a scroll to eat, John is apparently conceiving
the vision as ocurring in his own life-time (end of first century), since he
appears as an actor in the drama. He has already reached the sixth trumpet,
but his perspective is still how own lifetime, not the 21st century.
