1 P. 3:18 has the verb PROSAGW in a reduplicated aorist subjunctive PROSAGAGHi.

Lk 9:14 and Ac. 16:20 also show the reduplicated aorist ( the fourth
occurrence in the N.T , also in Ac., is a present infinitive ]

The Perseus LSJ lists this reduplicated form as a Doric/Aeolic variation.

Perphas someone could comment on the background to this reduplicated aorist
--- in Greek literature generally, and specifically its incidence in the N.T?
Is it significant that the Aeolic dialect is a "native" of Asia Minor?

Maurice
