I have run across this proposed translation for 1 Cor. 7:14:
"For the unbelieving man has been made a legitimate husband through the
believing wife, and the unbelieving woman has been made a legitimate wife
through the believing husband. Otherwise, your children would be
illegitimate; but as it is they are legitimate."

Is there any basis for translating hHGIASTAI as "has been made
legitimate" and AKAQARTA as "illegitimate" and hAGIA as "legitimate"? I
don't seem to see it, but perhaps I am missing something. Thanks for your
help.
