Cindy,
Be aware of the pronouns and verbal subjects in 2 Peter 1. There is a sudden shift in v4
from the first person to the second person. What Peter is saying is that his audience can
participate in the divine nature because of what God, in his glory and goodness, has given
to the apostles (apostles="us").
2 Peter is one of the most misunderstood works in the NT because people miss the
significance of the shift between first and second person, especially in ch1.
