Matthew,

This assumes that your student has had several decades of training in
philology and lexical semantics so that he can make proper use of the data
found in the NT, LXX and numerous extracanonical sources.

This is assuming a lot is it not?

I have been studying lexical semantics for about 20 years but I don't
consider myself qualified to simply wave aside the expert judgment of
Fredrick Danker or Thayer, or LSJ. I might argue with them but I give them a
lot of respect.
