My chart of how Greek datives are translated in English versions
now includes 70 examples, and I am continuing to add to the
examples--as we sit and wait for our next grandchild to arrive. A
summary of the chart results showing percentage of the translation
examples which are in natural, standard English follows:

      TOTAL VERSES: 70

PERCENTAGE = SUM OF HITS / TOTAL VERSES

      11.4% KJV

      12.9% NKJV

      21.4% RSV

      28.6% NRSV

      22.9% ESV

      17.1% NASB

      42.9% NIV

      37.1% TNIV

      81.4% NLT

      82.9% TEV

      91.4% CEV

      78.6% NCV

      84.3% GW

      32.9% NET

      50.0% ISV

      18.6% HCSB

The complete chart in Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word
format is posted at my website and accessible from URL:

As always, I welcome corrections and comments, and especially empirical data
which would change any of the evaluations for individual verses as to
whether or not their wording is in natural, standard English. I want to be
absolutely fair to all the versions.
