We may actually be in agreement here. Not sure. I would say that iterative
aspect is not connected in any way shape or form with the morphology of the
Greek verb. This may be slightly overstated.

The difference hlk in Zech 1:10 (hitpael infinitiveConstruct) and TOU
PERIODEUSAI in the LXX is that hitpael is a MARKED form and apparently it
does mark the verb as iterative (Waltke/O'Conner, Heb Syntax, #26.1ff)
whereas the Greek aorist infinitive is certainly not a marked form. I
suspect (a conjecture) this explains why hlk (hitpael) is sometimes
rendered by compounds like PERIPATEW, PERIODEUW. The PERI prefix servers
the purpose of marking the iterative nature of the action. This is just a
hypothesis put together on the fly so to speak. Could change my mind
tomorrow, or earlier.

greetings,

Clay
