But it *is* improper on *this* list.  This list discusses Greek and Greek
only.  Translational considerations as well as doctrinal considerations are
for other lists.  To argue on *this* list for a translation of "lift up",
one would have to use Greek, discourse analysis or context.  Nothing else
will do.  And certainly not doctrinal considerations.

I'm not sure how this response got past the moderators, and perhaps I've
overstepped my bounds by responding, but I felt you should know what the
purpose of this list is.  As far as I was concerned, your entire previous
post (and much of this one) is off topic for this list.
