Meaning of EMBRIMAOMAI

In John 11:33 ENEBRIMHSATO TW PNEUMATI is normally translated as "being deeply moved."
In the other occurrences of EMBRIMAOMAI (Dan. 11:30; Matt. 9:30; Mk. 1:43; 14:5;) it is
translated as "speak harshly to, criticize harshly, scold, be indignant".

My question:
Is there any non-NT evidence for EMBRIMAOMAI to have the meaning of "deeply moved"? I am
missing the angry, negative tone here.

Compare the variant at 11:33
NA text:
ENEBRIMHSATO TW PNEUMATI KAI ETARAXEN EAUTON

P45, P66C, D, Theta, f1, 22, pc have:
ETARACQH TW PNEUMATI WS ENEBRIMWMENOS

Is it not, that the negative force of EMBRIMAOMAI has been softened here by inserting WS?
So what was the intended meaning of verse 33b?

Best wishes
    Wieland
