Wrong, 

Rod Decker is just about the most high tech scholar you will ever run into.
He maintains both platforms MAC/Windows so he can use all the best tools.

As for any messianic notions about technology, one should carefully compare
the quality of scholarship in the late 1800's to the late 1900's. There will
always be incurable "progressives" who think the gadgets can replace
thought.
