The temporal distance before or after the NT time period has diminishing
returns. However, making a strong distinction between Biblical Greek
and non-Biblical Greek, IMO, does more harm than good. We see the same
type of problem in translation when making a strong distinction between
Biblical English and the English everyone else speaks.
