I hereby resubmit the sixth of the questions concerned with distinctive
readings of Codex Bezae in the text of Luke's gospel.
Lk 1:13 NA27/USB4: hH GUNH SOU ELISABEQ GENNHSEI hUION SOI; D05 does not
have SOI. In view of the fact that Elizabeth is clearly identified as GUNH
SOU in the text, does the presence or absence of SOI as an indirect object
or dative of reference in conjunction with GENNHSEI hUION make any
significant semantic difference in what the text tells us?
George Somsel (Thu, 22 Aug 2002 21:30:59 EDT" is the only respondent to the
earlier form of this question; He noted, "I'm not sure that it makes a
great difference unless one were to suppose that the child had been
fathered by another."
