Carl,
While in general I would agree with your comments, I find this in totality a
difficult to accept.
My first problem would be Galatians 5:17, which says, "They are in conflict
with each other, so that you do not do what you want." one cannot really
argue that spirit and flesh are equal in a fight.
James 5:16 would be another one that includes a form of differentiation
simply because only a sinner can confess a sin, such that those who have not
sinned (presumably against someone) are unable t confess for they have not
done anything.
I Peter 5:5 would be another foil.
Matthew 24:10 also seems dubious.
I could probably go on and deal with all 100 occurrences in the GNT, but
I'll limit myself to these from among the first 14 I looked at.
I very well could be wrong, but I do not think these texts show a total
mutality, especially I Peter 5:5 which, contextually, seems to completely go
against that idea.
God bless,
- Ron Fay
