Machen has past its copyright date and is now public domain. You can download the page scans (300 dpi) at CCEL for free. I'm pretty sure you could print it out and bind it for less than what the publisher is asking.
I used Machen last year and my students hated it. Their distaste for Machen was the one point of unity in the course evaluation forms. I found that I needed to do a lot of work just to translate Machen into something my students could understand. It made for a lot of extra work for me. I will use Mounce with the workbook next time and see how that goes.
