Is is appropriate in this forum to consider Septuagint studies?
If so, I would be GREATLY interested in any insights anyone may have on the LXX text at Psalm 102:25-27, which is quoted at Hebrews 1:10. The reading is different from the Masoretic Text, where the speaker addresses YHWH. In the LXX reading, we have the Lord addressing the Lord (both kurios in the Greek text, and thus YHWH probably addressing Adoni ["my Lord"] as in other passages where the anointed king is addressed (e.g. Ps. 45:1,6; 110:1).
The interesting thing about this one is that the exalted human king is said to have "laid the foundation of the earth" and "the heavens are the work of [his] hands"--a rather exalted comment for a man, though understandable for the Christ--either pre-existent as a person or conceptually as the internal Logos/Wisdom of the one Person God. And while I suppose this isn't so much the forum for theological issues, I wonder if there is anything in the text of note to consider as to why the LXX reads differently from the MT.
Thanks!
