KAI PROBAS OLIGON EIDEN IAKWBON TON TOU ZEBEDAIOU KAI
IWANNHN TON ADELFON AUTOU KAI AUTOUS EN TWi PLOIWi
KATARTIZONTAS TA DIKTUA

Why do some translations render the second kai as "also"? If this is a
legitimate translation, then what might be the significance in context?
Is their any particular significance to the definite article before
"boat"?

Thoughts?
