Yeah, this sort of thing happens all the time in Greek. A quick search with BibleWindows showed some 160 instances in the NT in which two articles occur in sequence; and some 29 instances in which you had:

<article> <genitive article> <genitive noun> <noun>.

For instance:

Matt. 13:55 - OUC hOUTOS ESTIN <<hO TOU TEKTWNOS hUIOS>>
John 6:51 - hO ARTOS hON EGW DWSW hH SARX MOU ESTIN hUPER <<THS TOU KOSMOU ZWHS>>
John 18:10 - EPAISEN <<TON TOU ARCIEREWS DOULON>>
1 Pet. 5:1 --ΠΑΡΑΚΑLW hO SUMPRESBYTEROUS ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡΤOUS <<TWN TOU CRISTOU PAQHMATWN>>

And of course, a bunch more.

Make sense?
