my first question to b-greek, surely a softball.
i was doing my exercises in ward power's book and
couldn't understand why the definite article before
john's name is neuter.
Mat 21:25 TO BAPTISMA TO IWANNOU
Every adjective agrees with the noun which it modifies. IIn this noun here
is BAPTISMA which is neuter. Any adjective referring to it would therefore
be neuter as well. "John" would not appear to be an adjective, but by
placing the article in the neuter before it the name "John" which is normally
a noun itself comes to modify another noun. It is "the baptism, the one of
John."
