Thanks to Carl and Dale for a helpful consideration of the middle deponent.
Jh 11:22 KAI NUN OIDA hOTI hOSA AN AITHSHi TOV QEON DWSEI SOI hO QEOS.
Is there a different sense between the active and middle forms of AITEW?
Jn 11:26 KAI PAS hO ZWN KAI PISTEUWN EIS EME OU MH APOQANHi EIS TOV AIWNA.
Does EIS TOV AIWNA give this verse the meaning "surely never die" or "surely
not die forever?"
Thank you,
Richard Smith
