Is there a different sense between the active and middle forms of AITEW? 

Jn 11:26 KAI PAS hO ZWN KAI PISTEUWN EIS EME OU MH APOQANHi EIS TOV AIWNA.

Does EIS TOV AIWNA give this verse the meaning "surely never die" or "surely 
not die forever?"
