I just received my JACT New Testament Reader today. It is a standard paperback with semi-gloss pages (quite unlike the Reading Greek volumes). There are 12 sections each containing 6-12 readings. All the readings are taken from the NA27 with changes only in capitalization and some punctuation. There is an index containing c. 350 common words which must be memorized; all other vocabulary immediately follows each reading. There is also an appendix discussing the basic difference between Classical and New Testament Greek.

If you are looking for a graded reader, Mounce's Reader has more grammatical help and exegetical discussions but the JACT volume seems better for simple reading. Mounce's text constantly draws the reader into analysis whereas JACT minimizes time in the notes so as to keep the student reading. The JACT NT Greek Reader is good for a student to use over the summer after a 1st year course and before a course in Syntax. I think after using this Reader, the move into the GNT (even with a help like Grosvenor's Grammatical Analysis) will be less daunting.

I will use the JACT NT Greek Reader for my morning meditative reading as the size, is about perfect for this purpose. Besides, I have to justify buying this somehow!
