I have looked at this "small dot" on a microfilm of B, and have a printed a
copy of the passage in my files. I'm not certain that the microfilm process
replicates the appearance of the original too reliably, but my impression of
the "small dot after SHMERON," is that it could just be ink splatter. It
doesn't seem to me to be very clearly defined, as one might expect from a
pen stroke, and there are other, similarly diffused marks in the margins and
elsewhere on the page. If anyone would like to take a look at this, I will
do my best to send a scanned image, though I can't promise to do so very
successfully. Contact me off-list and I'll see what I can do.
