Please allow me to underscore Carl's comments.
The viral problem is one of the KEY reasons for plain text postings.
That is: no HTML, no RTF, just plain text. AND NO attachments.
The last BGreek message. which I just recieved "from" (note quotes)
Jonathan Robie, was in HTML format and had an attachment. The
attachment was in PIF format which is one of the formats used by viral
software.
The thing which concerns me is the attachment purports to solve a KLEZ
virus infection and KLEZ was EXACTLY the virus which came by way of the
spoofed BGreek messages a few days ago. In other words this very well
may be a more organized attack. That is: get people worried about KLEZ
and then purport to solve their problem. And thus achieve a worse
infection.
It is BGreek policy to have only plain text and no attachments. So, if
it isn't plain text OR it has an attachment, just ignore it.
DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS FROM BGREEK! BGREEK DIDN'T SEND THEM.
Thank you. And thank you to Carl and Jonathan for the work you do--
especially when it's "added" work.
