This is one thing I had never considered as a possible understanding. This
goes beyond the grammar and lexicography of Greek, but I will state that
everyone I have ever heard speak or have read concerning this considered
this to be a shortening of the number of days, not the length of the days
themselves. This is figurative speech. Sometimes we try to understand
things a bit too literally.
