It derives from the word PLANAW meaning 'to wander'. The planets were

Wandering from what? <g> The axis of the equatorial spin of the stars
crossed the axis of the planets (well, actually the path of the sun) at an
angle of approximately 23 degrees. They also spun at a different "speed"
than the stars. Using the diurnal rotation of the stars as a reference
point, the planets did seem to be wandering.
This is what I meant. However, I admit my little daimon was saying "you
better be more specific" when I wrote what I did, but I had responded "I'm
too tired." Thanks for the correction!
