I see. And yes I think this is quite the sense of the
middle. My "active" sense was to tie the
action from ESFRAGISQHTE to the actions of hearing and
believing. I was working under the presumption that
when an individual (actively) believes, this
individual thereby brings about the sealing. I think
Iver is also correct in that this sealing logically
follows the believing, but I'm not sure one should
argue that it chronologically follows believing, else
how can Paul with such confidence deem ALL to have
been sealed. I think believing and sealing are
opposite sides of the same coin, since there appears
to be a one-to-one correspondence. To say more would
drift into theology I suppose.
