Here is a constituent order problem within a text that has other
difficulties.
NA27
ACTS 20:28 PROSECETE hEAUTOIS KAI PANTI TWi POIMNIWi, EN hWi hUMAS TO PNEUMA
TO hAGION EQETO EPISKOPOUS POIMAINEIN THN EKKLHSIAN TOU QEOU, hHN
PERIEPOIHSATO DIA TOU hAIMATOS TOU IDIOU.
Greek New Testament: Byzantine/Majority Text
Compiled by Dr. Maurice A. Robinson.
ACTS 20:28 PROSECETE OUN EAUTOIS KAI PANTI TW POIMNIW EN W UMAS TO PNEUMA TO
AGION EQETO EPISKOPOUS POIMAINEIN THN EKKLHSIAN TOU KURIOU KAI QEOU HN
PERIEPOIHSATO DIA TOU IDIOU AIMATOS
What would should one make of
MT: DIA TOU IDIOU AIMATOS
NA27: DIA TOU hAIMATOS TOU IDIOU
Before addressing this it might be a good idea to review the entire question
of QEOU/KURIOU. There are extensive discussions of this in H.Alford, B.M.
Metzger (Textual Comm. GNT), CK Barrett (ICC), J.A. Fitzmyer (AB).
I am not asking which is the original text, but what semantic significance
can be attributed to the different placement of IDIOU.
